How do I select a wig?

It’s always best to plan ahead for your wig purchase. This is especially important if you are purchasing a wig in preparation for hair loss. Buying a natural looking African American Wig can give you style and feeling of control you have been looking for. If possible, we recommend you review as many hair styles online that you can. Sending or bringing these ideas to your wig supplier will give them a better idea of the inventory that will work best for you. It’s also a great idea to be up front with how you plan to use the wig. Going out on the town, wearing to work or church, or even vacations are all things your wig supplier should know to help you make the best decision.

Will my wig frizz?

This is tough question, but the simple answer is, not on its own. Frizzing is typically caused by excessive steam; for example, opening the oven, the steam from the dishwasher, the clothes dryer or any other heat source that may include water. Frizzing also occurs by through friction, such as a wig with long hair that rubs against the back of a chair. Will your wig frizz naturally?

How often should I clean my wig?

We recommend any wig that is worn daily for 10 to 12 hour a day be washed once every 10 to 14 days. Of course there are other factors that could change this, such as the type of styling products used on the wig hair, or the environment the wig is worn (think hot and humid temperatures. Ultimately you know your lifestyle and what you’re comfortable with, and should be the judge of when it needs to be cleaned.
